FAQ

  • Absolutely! Bergen is Norway's second-largest city, nestled on the west coast with the North Sea as its closest neighbor. An international city in the North, Bergen has a rich history of trade with European Hanseatic ports and mercantile activity. Once the capital of Norway (and some people still believe it should be), Bergen’s citizens are known for their strong local pride, often saying, “I’m not from Norway, I’m from Bergen.”

Nearly 300,000 people call Bergen home, and the city is beautifully framed by mountains and the sea. Living in Bergen means feeling very close to nature, and many Lacers enjoy a quick run to a mountain top or a refreshing hike in the woods both before and after work.

The city has an international airport with daily flights to major European cities, and local public transport is efficient, with buses and light rail to help you get around smoothly. Bergen also offers a vibrant cultural scene, with music festivals, art galleries, and historic sites for a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and urban life. And when the weather turns to famous Bergen rain, the cozy cafes, friendly locals, and lively downtown make it all part of the charm!

  • Si!

Barcelona is a city with a little bit of everything: a lively urban scene, sandy beaches, and a laid-back Mediterranean vibe. It’s a place where old architecture meets modern design, and you can feel the unique mix of history and creativity around every corner.

With 1.6 million residents, Barcelona offers a balanced lifestyle. You can start your day with a jog along the beach, grab lunch in a cozy café in the Gothic Quarter, and meet friends for tapas at night. The city’s mild weather makes it easy to enjoy outdoor activities year-round, whether that’s cycling, hiking in nearby mountains, or just relaxing by the sea.

Barcelona also has a strong cultural scene, with art museums, music festivals, and neighborhood events that are part of everyday life. Whether you’re here for the city life, the beach, or just the easygoing atmosphere, Barcelona makes it easy to find a good balance.

  • Once we have met, talked and agreed, your onboading process starts. We use professionals to manage your entire immigration process, from start to keys-in-you-new-apartment. Lace fixes your entire process, books your tickets and helps you find an apartment. We know moving is a big endeavour and how important a smooth start is for you career with us.

  • While it definitely makes things easier, it's by no mean a dealbreaker if you need help with the visa process.

  • In a nutshell, here is what it looks like:

    • Round 1: A 15 minute call with an operations manager from Lace Lithography. This will be a short chat to get to know you, introduce Lace, and see if we’re a good match.
    • Round 2: A longer (45-60 minutes) call with a manager/squad lead + joined by one of our tech/physicist. This round will dive deeper into your interests and explore learning opportunities.
    • Round 3: A 60 minutes talk with a manager/squad lead + a team member. We want to talk about technical/role-specific topics, collaborative preferences and career ambitions.
    • Final Round: A final call with a C-level executive.
  • By being yourself and showing us why you want to join us! We would greatly appreciate you considering why you want to join a deep tech startup, what you want to contribute, and what you want us to achieve together. We don't want you to prepare any speeches, PowerPoint, or demos - just you being you is more than enough!

  • After the first round, we will look at which candidates we feel match our three above mentioned criteria best. From there, we will promptly invite the relevant candidates to proceed to a second-round interview focusing on tech, physics, and computational problems.

If you do not make the cut, don't feel bad! It is probably more us than you. We will email all candidates that we don't wish to continue the process and offer to store your contact info in our candidate database in case a new position we think may fit you should open.
