Want to be a key part of shaping the quantum future? At Lace Lithography we are looking for a Junior Atomic Optics physicist to join the Design & Simulations team in Barcelona. At Lace, we focus on producing a revolutionary chip lithography technology that will dramatically improve chip performance.
Your job:
You will be the junior technical contributor for the simulations and design team. This includes being hands-on in solving calculations relevant to our system, and helping the rest of the team in setting up the designs and experiments for our instruments.
Concretely, we expect you to:
- Perform theoretical calculations for relevant engineering components of our system.
- Code, run and iterate on numerical solvers relevant to the theoretical calculations
- Code & evaluate atom optics simulations that reflect the interactions between neutral atoms and diffraction masks
- Code & evaluate atom beam simulations relevant to metastable atom beams
- Help design experiments and experimental devices
- Stay on top of the state of the art in the field and quickly implement methods published in academic papers
Qualifications/Experience:
- Broad understanding of physics at an undergraduate level - including all fields relevant to the standard physics curriculum
- Good understanding of Optics
- BsC or MsC in a relevant field of physics/mathematics
- Demonstrated coding skills (you will be asked to produce examples of your code)
- Knowledge of python or other simulation programming languages/environments such as OpenFOAM, Matlab, Julia etc
