Lace Lithography is looking for an independent and solution-oriented Vacuum Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for Computer Aided Design of vacuum systems and act in a manufacturing advisory role for the current engineers. We value initiative and are looking for someone who enjoys both mechanical design and is able to foster a strong culture of precision and documentation.
This role is based in Bergen (Norway).
Key Responsibilities
We expect you to:
Advanced CAD & Engineering
UHV & XHV Architecture: Lead the 3D modeling of vacuum chambers, beamline manifolds, and internal vacuum systems using CAD tools (eg. Creo Parametric, Autodesk Fusion 360, etc.)
Unify design documentation and CAD information systems throughout the company.
Stakeholder (internal & external) and supplier management with key partners.
Design for Manufacture (DFM): Work with precision machine shops to ensure parts can be machined precisely, cognisant of company timelines.
Prototyping: Transition from the screen to the lab assembling your designs in a cleanroom environment.
Product Lifecycle Management
Catalogue and maintain all existing and future hardware systems in PLM architectures.
BOM Management: Export your CAD Bill of Materials (BOM) directly into the company's ERP system.
Technical Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
CAD Expert: 5+ years of professional experience with SolidWorks (or similar). Experience with PDM (Product Data Management) systems is a plus.
High proficiency in product lifecycle management for manufacturing or logistical flows.
Vacuum Knowledge: Practical experience with CF/ISO flange standards.
Experience with cryogenic systems would be extremely beneficial.
